How do I purchase a plan?

We don't make you commit to a plan while you're shopping for your phone or SIM card. You'll make your plan selection in the Republic Wireless app when you activate the phone.

Can I keep my current number if I join Republic? When can I transfer my number?

Yes, in most cases, you can. We offer the ability to transfer numbers to and from our service. To find out if your specific number can be transferred over to us, try our Number Transfer Checker. The best part is that you don’t have to transfer right away. You can try out Republic, and transfer your number whenever you’re ready. What happens when I reach my data limit?

The Republic app will help you stay on top of your cell data usage. You can always see how much data you’re using, and easily add 1GB of data at a time for just $5 through the app. When you run out of data, data will stop working until you purchase more. There are never any overage fees. We don't like surprises either.

What phones are compatible with My Choice Plans?

Phones compatible with our My Choice Plans are often referred to as "Republic Wireless 3.0 phones". You can purchase a phone from our online store or bring your own as long as the model number and variant match our compatibility list.

Please note: Republic Wireless 1.0 and 2.0 phones, sometimes referred to as "Legacy" phones, are not compatible. This includes the Moto E1, Moto E2, Moto G1, Moto G3, Moto X1, and Moto X2.

Can I bring my own phone?

Yes, we offer the option to bring your own compatible phone to Republic. Don’t see your phone? Keep checking back, we will continue to add BYOP options.

Do you have coverage in my area?

Our service is like no other. Most phone carriers use only cell towers for service, but we take that a step further and combine cell with WiFi for talk and text too. Since we use both, we’re actually able to offer most folks more coverage beyond what you’ve used in the past at a super affordable price. Our phones have fast, nationwide 4G LTE, plus added coverage wherever there’s available WiFi like at your home or at work. To check Republic coverage in your area, visit our coverage page.

Do you charge any additional fees?

You'll be charged for the plan price you select, plus any regulatory fees and government taxes. For more information on required taxes and fees, please refer to this help article.

Can I call international numbers from my Republic phone?

Republic Wireless service does not include international calling. Our service includes calling and texting only to the US, Canada, and Per Call Countries, Territories, and Protectorates: Puerto Rico, Guam, US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands, Johnston Atoll, Midway Atoll, and Wake Island. Republic currently includes outbound calls to per call countries as part of our monthly calling plans, but reserves the right to charge up to $0.50 per minute. Calling to other countries is not included. International roaming is not included, but if you travel, calling and texting on WiFi will work from anywhere in the world just like it does from home. 

What do I do if I decide Republic isn't for me?
